Birthday Trip to Tuscany

I’m the luckiest girl ever! For my birthday this year, my wonderful partner took me on a little 4-day trip to Italy. I’d never been to the Tuscany region before, so this was very exciting in many ways. Of course we did take the cameras along and spent some time not just taking in the sights and vistas, but also capturing them as best as possible.

After a lazy afternoon with lots of fantastic food and wine at our hotel in the middle of nowhere, we spent the following day in the beautiful city of Florence. I didn’t quite know what to expect, and I was totally blown away. Florence is simply stunning. It was busy and probably the hottest day of the year so far, but I feel we did see and do a lot nevertheless.

As a complete contrast to the day in the city, we decided to spend the next day driving around the Tuscan countryside.
Unfortunately it was still a little too early for the sunflowers to be out, but instead we did find some very pretty poppy fields. Generally, the landscape is so insanely beautiful down there, it’s difficult to take a bad photo. The problem is, you do want to stop and pull over very frequently, which quickly turns a 5 hour round trip into an all-day adventure. But then again, I should be used to that 😉

I definitely want to go back to see and photograph more of this beautiful landscape.
For now, you can see some of my photos in the Europe travel galleries!
